Changelog

Every public release of TZC, what's in it, and when it shipped. Newest first.

v0.1.0

First public release.

Added

  • Convert times selected in any macOS app into up to 5 configured target zones.
  • Per-zone global keyboard shortcuts, recorded in Preferences.
  • System Services menu entry — Services → Convert Time with TZC — that pops the converted result for every configured zone. Enabled automatically on first launch.
  • Natural-language parser: absolute clocks (9 AM, 14:00), explicit zones (9 PM IST, 14:00 UTC), relative phrasing (tomorrow 9 AM, tonight at 9, EOD Friday, in half an hour), spelled-out times (half past nine, quarter to ten, 9 o'clock), ranges (9–10 AM, including ones that cross midnight), chat shorthand (tmrw, 2nite), and bare ordinal day-of-month (1 AM on 25th).
  • Absolute date suffix on every output (@ Mon, 8th Jun-26) so pastes stay self-describing even read days later.
  • Menu-bar status item showing <source> → <target> for the primary slot, with a yellow warning glyph when Accessibility permission is missing. The dropdown lists the current time in every configured zone (click to copy), and the item flashes a brief ✓ when a conversion lands — or a clear message when no time was found.
  • Clipboard fallback for browsers and other web content restores your clipboard exactly as it was — images, files, and rich text included — and works on any keyboard layout.
  • First-run welcome screen: grant the Accessibility permission, enable launch-at-login, and see the analytics disclosure in one place, before any event fires.
  • Preferences with tabs for Zones, General, Privacy, About, and Logs.
  • Conversion failure log capped at 50 entries, stored locally.
  • Anonymous opt-out usage analytics (default on; toggle in Preferences → Privacy, with a Regenerate Install ID button; opting out also discards queued events).
  • Launch-at-login toggle via SMAppService, kept in sync with System Settings.
  • Auto-update via Sparkle.

Requirements

  • macOS 13 Ventura or later.
  • Apple Silicon and Intel.
  • Accessibility permission (granted on first launch).
